Builders function within a broader ecosystem that includes The A-L.I.F.E. 2.0 Wellness Collective, a legally distinct limited liability company that supports sustainability through earned-revenue wellness and leadership services. While aligned in vision and values, the two entities maintain clear governance, financial, and operational separation in accordance with nonprofit best practices and IRS compliance requirements.

Leadership & Founder
Aurelio D. Givens I A Builder of People

With more than three decades of experience in leadership development, personal empowerment, and organizational growth, Dr. Aurelio D. Givens is a seasoned leader, educator, author, and community builder. He is the founder of the Abundant Life Center, established in 1998, and has dedicated his life’s work to helping individuals and institutions cultivate purpose, resilience, and productive impact.
As Founder and Executive Leader of A-L.I.F.E. Builders, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Dr. Givens leads initiatives centered on mental wellness education, personal and professional development, and the advancement of productive citizenship. Under his leadership, A-L.I.F.E. Builders also serves as a cultural anchor through its annual Juneteenth and Kwanzaa celebrations, honoring heritage while strengthening civic engagement and community identity.
Dr. Givens is the author of Ivenia’s Pearls: Life Lessons for Building Character and Resilience and Unmuted: Get A-L.I.F.E. 2.0 – Reflections on Healing, Purpose, and Intentional Living, a work that explores personal transformation through the lenses of leadership, integrity, faith, and expectation—principles that continue to shape both his writing and his professional practice.
In addition to his nonprofit leadership, Dr. Givens serves as Executive Director of A. D. Givens Funeral and Cremation Services, LLC, providing concierge funeral services and grief support to families in South Carolina and beyond under the guiding commitment, “Your Comfort, Our Commitment.” A Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and a member of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of South Carolina, he continues to integrate cultural awareness, Gullah heritage, and community empowerment into every dimension of his work.
Dr. Givens holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry with focused study in the Sociology of Religion. He has also completed advanced doctoral coursework in Organizational Leadership, further informing his work in leadership development, community systems, and institutional growth.


Kendall Givens Little
Director of Strategic Communications &
Creative Media
Kendall Givens-Little is a communications executive, creative strategist, educator, and emerging scholar whose work centers on leadership development, ethical influence, and building pathways for the next generation.
He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Organizational Leadership, where his research and practice focus on how vision, communication, and institutional culture shape human potential and organizational impact.
Professionally, Kendall serves as a Portfolio Director at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and has previously held senior leadership roles in marketing and strategic communications at Tougaloo College, Presbyterian College, and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. His earlier career includes work with Discovery Communications, GVI Productions, and Keppler Speakers, blending corporate media expertise with mission-driven storytelling.
Kendall is the Co-Founder of Project M.E.N. (Mentoring & Empowering Neophytes), a character development and productive citizenship initiative serving young men ages 12–26. Through mentoring, leadership training, and exposure to educational and professional pathways, the program equips young men to lead with integrity, purpose, and accountability. His passion is helping young people see beyond their circumstances and recognize their capacity to shape their own futures.
He also provides strategic advisement to the Advanced Technology and Innovation Ministry of Abundant Life Fellowship Church, supporting digital engagement, media strategy, and organizational innovation.
As a member of the A-L.I.F.E. Builders Leadership Team, Kendall brings deep expertise in strategic communication, brand development, leadership formation, and youth empowerment. His work strengthens the organization’s mission to build people for a living by ensuring its message, programs, and impact are clear, credible, culturally grounded, and forward-thinking.

Rev. Demett Jenkins, m.Div
Program Director &
Director of Faith-Based Resources
Rev. DeMett E. Jenkins is a servant leader, pastorally formed chaplain, and justice-centered advocate with more than 25 years of ministry rooted in pastoral care, faith-based engagement, and community healing.
She is the Founder and Principal of Jenkins Faith-Based Resources, LLC, an organization providing spiritually grounded resources and services that promote emotional, social, and spiritual wholeness while strengthening the connection between faith and community impact. Rev. Jenkins also serves as Program Director and Director of Faith-Based Resources with A-L.I.F.E. Builders, supporting holistic wellness initiatives, spiritual formation, and leadership development across underserved communities.
Her leadership spans healthcare chaplaincy, trauma-responsive care, domestic violence prevention, faith-community education, and cultural storytelling, including initiatives uplifting Gullah Geechee heritage. Her work has been nationally recognized, including the YWCA Harvey Gantt Triumph Award and designation as one of the Post and Courier’s “12 Black Leaders You Need to Know.”
Rev. Jenkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from South Carolina State University and a Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling. She is the granddaughter of Esau and Janie Jenkins of Johns Island, South Carolina, respected civil rights leaders and community organizers whose legacy of justice and human dignity continues to shape her work.
